Ok, So my niece was coming to town. And I'm the "cool" aunt, the one who takes my niece to all the amusement parks and stuff. I had great memories of my dad taking me to the theme parks when I was a kid. So why not convince my "activist-disney hating" Reinitz Family to go to a theme park on their memorial day visit. (The Reinitz Family is my Domestic Partner- Dave's Family Name) to which I have so graciously and amicably become a part of. Well this all sound great right, the niece is coming down I'll just take her to the theme park, but no its not that easy. She has friends in the area, Olivia and Joaquin, who would also like to join the trek. So now we're up to 5 adults and three kids. YIKES that can get costly- After many attempts at discounts AAA, The Entertainment book, coupons from the clipper etc. It ends up that the cheapest way to actually buy tickets is ONLINE from the theme park itself. http://www.knottsberryfarm.com/ in advance of course. If you do this you can actually save about 10-15 dollars per ticket than by just going to the park itself. Other ways to save money- PACK YOUR OWN PICNIC Lunch, bring a stroller in and carry drinks and food in the stroller. You can bring bags food and drink into the park, its no problem. We did this and quite frankly the food was better than what we could have had in the park. Surprisingly memorial day was not event that crowded a pleasant surprise for a Southern California theme park. Hope the tip helps and here are some pictures from my adventure!
